Spring might be around the corner, but that doesn't always mean good weather will follow. Rainy, windy, and yes, even a snow day may cause your dog to be stuck inside for most of the day.
One of the favorites and probably one of the funniest, if you have ever watched a video, is Hide and Seek.
Super simple easy game, but does require a good sit-stay, and a good recall. With two or more people though, you can turn Hide and seek into an exhausting game by constantly changing positions with in the house and calling the dog. Its similar to the find it, but with Hide and Seek, you can call, whistle, make noise to give clues on where you are which makes the game easier. Start by dropping a cookie for your dog to eat briefly, the run away around the corner so they can’t see you and call! AS soon as they get there, dump a little treat pile so they are busy as you run away again. Repeat the treat pile until your dog is good at the sit-stay.
Also try a stuffed Kong. These can be really fun and can keep your dog busy for quite sometime depending on the goodies you put inside. I always recommend freezing them overnight. You can really get creative with these! Here are a few example:
Bottom Layer-Kibble-Cherrios-Shaved Carrots and top with Pnut Butter
Bottom Layer-Small piece of dogs favorite protein-Pumpkin and top off with Cream Cheese.
